Kids are the most innocent aspect of our society but when they are introduced to the dark parts of the world, like pornographic material, illegal substances, and drugs, they become the worst possible version of themselves. Kids need programs in schools that can benefit them and steer them away from drugs and substance abuse.
One preventative idea is a one-to-one talk where instead of instant punishment for the bully or bullies, they would get a chance to talk to the person or people who were getting bullied to try and get to common ground with them. This would help students who have problems with other students understand why this occurred. Overall, this could increase friendliness and understanding.
Subsequently, an idea to make schools safer is to motivate students to tell staff when a fight may happen with a peer protection program for kids that have high risks for getting into fights. If students in the program are motivated to help stop fights, then they are more likely to be brave when solving problems, leading to a safer school with less fights and arguments.
Finally, in order to help kids who have poor hygiene, stations can be placed near the gym that have deodorant, toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, and other similar items. If kids can have these items, they will be happier and healthier during the school day.
Kids are important to our future and when they have the chance to get an education safely and happily, they are much less likely to turn to drugs and alcohol. It is our turn to help other kids in our community build a safer environment for learning. Drugs and alcohol do not belong in a school setting. It is important that the community takes measures to stop drug and alcohol abuse, as this will ensure students will save their health, minds, and education.
